DOTC Holds Successful Collaboration Day

January 26, 2012

NWEC Collaboration Day
Mr. Jose Gonzalez, Deputy Director, Land Warfare and Munitions, delivers Keynote Address at first DOTC Collaboration Day.

The DOTC program office, partnering with the Army's PEO Missiles and Space and AMRDEC, hosted its first Collaboration Day on January 26, 2012 in Huntsville, AL. Collaboration Days are DOTC's primary mechanism for Government and industry information exchange.

Nearly two-hundred Government, Industry and Academic partners participated in this event, which focused on the current and future requirements of the PEO Missiles and Space and AMRDEC community. Fifty-two NWEC member organizations from 27 states participated with Government attendees during an open session in which PEO staff and AMRDEC presented their technical challenges, followed by a series of one-on-one sessions with Government representatives. By all accounts the event proved to be an outstanding information exchange and networking opportunity for the participants.

DOTC is planning similar events throughout the year that will be hosted by various Government organizations. These events will be tailored to meet the specific needs of the organization sponsoring the event. The sponsoring organization(s) will be PEOs, PMs, Service Laboratories or groups of Service Laboratories interested in engaging with members of the NWEC. The next event will be a Fuze Collaboration Day, which will be held February 7-8, 2012 in Crystal City, VA.
